Most people know very little about African safaris. Most people have this romanticized, Disney-ized, “Out of Africa”-ized, image in their heads of what it’s like. Well, it’s not like that.
Here are my safari journals, five total when they’re all posted. You’ll experience a real Africa, one that is quite un-Hemmingwayed. I own no pith helmet. (And by the way, these safaris are the picture-shooting kind, not the gun-shooting kind.)
You’ll explore parks in Southern Africa, a place that’s virtually unchanged by people. You’ll learn what it’s like to walk in the bush. How dangerous it is. And how often people get eaten by tigers. Which is never, since there aren’t any in Africa.
So come, safari with me. We’ll crawl up to lions. We’ll get charged by elephants. We’ll get crapped on by baboons. It’ll be fun.
